Veronica R. Hill, currently serves as the Director for the Equal Opportunity Programs Office (EOPO) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. In this capacity, she promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion across the workforce and enforces Federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation and. She provides oversight and leadership in the implementation of Goddard’s Equal Employment Opportunity Programs, which includes the Disability Program; Discrimination Complaints Program; Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program; and the Affirmative Employment Program.
Prior to this role, she served as an Equal Employment Opportunity Manager in the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity (ODEO) at NASA Headquarters. From 2007-2008, she served as an EEO Manager in the Program Planning and Evaluation Division in ODEO, where she was responsible for developing and implementing an Agency-wide program to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the Agency’s EEO and EO programs. From 2003-2007, she served as an EEO Manager in the Discrimination Complaints Division in ODEO, where she was responsible for assisting in the administrative adjudication of formal EEO complaints filed against the Agency.
Before joining NASA, she spent over 10-years serving as an attorney in private practice providing legal advice, guidance and problem solving to a wide range of clientele (individuals, corporations, counties & municipalities) on employment and human resource issues. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and a law degree from Howard University School of Law.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Ms. Hill serves as a catalyst of change by working with community-based organizations that improve the community and the lives of young people, and that promote cultural education and awareness through music and film. She serves as a Program Developer with the Beautiful Woman Inside and Out Conference, where she designed the program to educate and empower young minority girls ages 12-17 to live their best lives. She also provides legal advice to The Christian Giving Circle, a community-based organization designed to make a positive difference in the lives of the residents in Prince George’s County, and DIVAS, D.C. Productions, LLC. She also enjoys serving the community as a member of The Links, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and The Pierians, Incorporated.
Ms. Hill is a native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. She lives her life according to the philosophy that “Being a woman is a matter of birth. Being a woman who makes a difference is a matter of choice” and she works diligently to ensure that this philosophy is actively demonstrated throughout her professional endeavors and work in her community. She resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland with her beloved fourteen-year-old Yorkie, Jazzy.
